Lagos stood still on Saturday September 20, 2014 as
the South West People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
convened a mega rally that brought together
supporters and chieftains of the party from all the
South West states. The rally which took place at the
Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos was graced by
President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Namadi
Sambo, PDP National Chairman, Adamu Muazu, BOT
members, Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti, Minister of
State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro among
other high ranking members of the Jonathan
administration.
The rally which was a colorful display of music,
dance and politicking was dominated by supporters of
Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu
Obanikoro. His banners and supporters, clad in
different costumes could be seen conspicuously
everywhere across the rally. A creative highlight of
the Minister’s presence at the rally was a group of
young stuntsmen, skaters and young ladies who were
all over the place dressed in t-shirts with the
inscriptions; #Korolette, #Korobucci etc. Clearly, it
appears Obanikoro is prepared to run a campaign
heavy on the use of creativity and pop culture.
