And the winner of the fierce battle for the post of mayor of Cormorant village, US, is…
Duke, the 7-year-old Great Pyrenees! Duke easily and heavily ouptolled his rival Richard Sherbrook, Telegraph UK reports.
The winner never even bothered to agitate village residents to vote
for him, but it turned out that basically everyone in Cormorant knew
Duke thus he did not experience any popularity problems.
One of the locals, Tricia Malone, narrated to journalists:
“He’s used to coming to the pub and getting some burgers and some fries or something. He won by a landslide, He doesn’t know how to handle this publicity.”
After hours of preparation for the official swearing-in ceremony Duke appeared all groomed and tidy in the public, with a stylish hat on.
The newly made mayor who was chosen in Cormorant where 12 people took
part in the election process, is now to address several
serious problems in the village, one of them is traffic hurtling through
the township.
According to the report, the winner will be generously rewarded for his public service and commitment with a year’s dog supply by a local pet store.
