Dating Jennifer Lawrence seems like a no-brainer, but not in Larry David’s mind. The 67-year-old comedy legend was asked about the Oscar winner, 24, during the New Yorker Festival on Saturday, Oct. 11 after she confessed her infatuation with him in her recent Vanity Fair cover story.

The Hunger Games star, 24, who is currently dating Coldplay’s Chris Martin, was quoted in the Vanity Fair interview as saying, “I’m in love with [David], and I have been for a really long time. I worship Woody Allen, but I don’t feel it below the belt the way I do for Larry David

Responding to Lawrence’s racy comments, David joked (via Gawker), “Smart kid. It’s a shame that I’m about 40 years older than she is.” He went on to quip, “Maybe she’s referring to her knees. I don’t think I could do it. On one hand it’s very flattering and on the other hand, it’s kind of a shame — in terms of timing. I’d have fun watching the reality show of it though.”
