Why Celebrity Marriages are Crashing; actor Chigozie Atuanya

Nollywood actor Chigozie Atuanya, who got married in August 2013, thinks he has an idea why many celeb marriages can't stand the test of time, thus crashing. In a chat with Nigeria Films, he said:
"First of all, it is good to have God as a good foundation. With him as the solid rock that holds your home, it would surely last. Then tolerance is another strong point to attain a peaceful home. Marriage is a combination of two different people, from different backgrounds who came together to live as one. Sometimes, we have to learn to overlook. In as much as the women are the pillars of a home, we the men too have lots to contribute.

"My wife has this American mentality, she doesn’t pay attention to the rumours people keep spreading, she just trusts me. You don’t say all you hear or keep monitoring your spouse without an atom of trust. Marriage failures are everywhere, not just in the entertainment industry, but if husbands and wives would jointly pull forces to make their marriages work, it would.”

See How PDP Thugs Embarrass Jonathan In Edo

President Goodluck Jonathan was on Friday reportedly embarrassed by thugs loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State.
The Nation reported that the President was given a show of shame at the Benin Airport during his visit to the state for the foundation laying ceremony of a $1 billion (about N165 billion) Azura Gas-powered Independent Power Project in the ancient city.

It was gathered that President Jonathan’s visit which was to show solidarity with the state government for attracting such a huge investment to the state and Nigeria was reportedly hijacked by hired PDP thugs who stormed the airport in large number, and started chanting anti-Adams Oshiomhole songs
The thugs which were led by a notorious thug in the
state identified as Shaba nearly disrupted the President’s visit, as it was reported that he physically assaulted some senior officials of the state government comprising the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Julius Ihonvbere, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Patrick Obahiagbon, the Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Anselm Ojezua and some commissioners.
The thugs while parading placards with different inscriptions reportedly disrupted activities at the airport for several minutes before a combined team of soldiers and policemen were able to control them.
It was reported that some PDP chieftains including the state chairman, Mr. Dan Orbih, the suspended Deputy Speaker of the state’s Assembly, Mr. Fstus Ebea, and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, among others who were at the airport to receive the President, were left untouched but made no attempt to bring the erring thugs to order.
It was further gathered that soldiers were quickly mobilised from an Air Force Base closed to the airport to restore order and dispatch the thugs before the plane of the President landed at about 10.42am.
The state Governor Adams Oshiomhole after receiving President Jonathan at the airport reportedly flew in the President’s helicopter to the venue of the foundation-laying ceremony.
It would be recalled that a former Commander of the Army Finance Corps, Gen.Charles Airhiavbere, who is also one of the PDP bigwig in Edo State had earlier hinted that it will be a disaster for the nation if Nigerians fail to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term in 2015.
Meanwhile, on September 23, 2014, Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, revealed his intention to vie for the nation’s number seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Patience Jonathan, mistakenly invited E! Correspondent, Alicia Quarles to Nigeria thinking she is Alicia Keys | Read

The first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan has made headlines for different reasons in the past especially on account of the meeting she convened with supposed relatives of the kidnapped Chibok girls.

However, the latest incident of mistaken identity allegedly commiited by Mrs Jonathan pitches the President’s wife against no less a personality than America’s award-winning music star, Alicia Keys
A tweet by Alicia Quarles, the University of Southern California graduate and TV personality who currently works with E!, indicates the first lady has made a request to the lady to  come and perform for her in Nigeria, obviously mistaking her for Alicia Keys.

Although Quarles did not provide further details on whether the approach was personally made by Dame Patience Jonathan or somebody from her camp, it is believed the request must have been made in the excitement of being introduced to Alicia Quarles whose name doesn’t come out so different from Alicia Keys’ name when properly pronounced.    ‘The First Lady of Nigeria just invited me to sing in her country. I had to break it to her that I’m Alicia Quarles, not @aliciakeys comedy,’ she wrote.

It is however, not confirmed if the First Lady actually invited her to sing in the country but it looks like Alicia Quarles deleted the tweet soon after.
