1. Most orgasms last about 20 seconds
After them, your body releases a hormone called prolactin that shuts off your sex drive for up to an hour, so anything that was turning you on before can suddenly make you bored. So now you’re suddenly not interested in that rain part of the notebook or your partner’s leopard print diamante pants.
2. Some orgasms can take over your whole body
Even your knees and elbows feel delightful afterwards. Women can sometimes get a ‘coregasm’ that can be brought on by exercising on pull up bars. Maybe only try this one if the gym isn’t too crowded.
3. Making noises can really help in your sport
Also controlling the volume can make your body react in different ways. Making a high pitched noise brings the sexual energy up to the top, while low pitched noises forces it down to your bits. So forget about the neighbours or the cat and start screaming the place up and down.
4. Sixty per cent of women fake their orgasms
Some blame tiredness, some blame wanting to please their partner and a few just wanted to get on with reading their book.
5. Stressed orgasms never feel as good as relaxed ones
And sometimes stress can be the cause of not having one. Forgetting about work and the spread sheets, sex can make you relaxed enough to spread on the sheets.
6. About 10 per cent of women are actually anorgasmic
This means their body just doesn’t let them orgasm.
7. About 20 per cent of women can experience orgasms from their chest
When the boobs are touched it brings more blood flow to the genitals and can trigger an orgasm.
8. More women in relationships orgasm than those taking that boozy taxi back from the bar for a one nighter
Partners are more aware of what you like, what you don’t like, and what you like having done with that whipped cream.
9. Oxytocin, the chemical released into women’s brain after climaxing, makes you relaxed and chatty
So you’re more likely to spill your secrets about how much those shoes really cost, or what you really think of your mother in law.
10. Orgasms can occur anywhere and everywhere
People have them in their sleep when they’re dreaming. People can give them to themselves through their mind by focusing on their fantasies. You can even orgasm during labour but we’re not really up for putting that one to the test right now.
