See How Governorship Aspirant Slumps During Debate

Alhaji Dahiru Waziri, a governorship aspirant in Adamawa State under KOWA Party on Wednesday, reportedly slumped during a live television debate programme. The Tribune reports that Waziri, was among two other gubernatorial candidates, Alhaji Adhmadu Umaru Fintiri of the PDP and Dr Amos Sunday of the PPN, when the incident occurre It was gathered that Waziri slumped after the three aspirants were introduced and had remained standing to commence the debate. He was quickly taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, for medical attention. A source within the party, who declined to give his name, revealed that Waziri, who is a diabetic patient, has been suffering from low sugar. He said it took the prompt intervention of the Gotel TV crew to stabilise him before he was rushed to the medical centre. Meanwhile, the debate was a private initiative of TC Consult Services meant for all governorship aspirants as part of efforts to prepare the candidates ahead the October 11 election. Some of the organisers of the programme explained that it was geared towards showcasing the candidates for the governorship seat in Adamawa State. Responding, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the acting governor of Adamawa State pleaded with organisers and the television stations to reschedule the programme. Meanwhile, Adamawa State bye election has been scheduled for October 11, 2014. It would be recalled that on September 30, 2014, Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, reportedly fired an administrator and two secretaries of Toungo West and Toungo South Development Areas. Meanwhile, on September 5, 2014, Nuhu Ribadu and seven other aspirants in the race for the governorship ticket, under the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), reportedly stepped down from the race.
