Tragedy: Woman, Children Found Decomposing In Their Home

A family of five, four boys and their mother were found
dead yesterday, October 1, in their residence at 8, Kunle
Owooade Close in Itamaga area of Ikorodu, Lagos.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke to Vanguard,
neighbours had noticed an offensive odour oozing out of
the building on Tuesday night and had called emergency
numbers in the state but it proved futile until yesterday.
They were last seen on Friday before their bodies were
found in their apartment yesterday. Three of the children
were found in one room while the mother who had soiled
herself was in another room with her last born.
Three bodies were already decomposing while one died
on the way to the hospital.
Sympathisers also invited Policemen from Ikorodu
Division who rushed to the scene, but did not offer any
assistance, as they suspected a case of the deadly Ebola
Virus Disease.
Some of the residents even exhibited same fear with the
policemen saying they could be right.
The incident has been trailed with controversy in the
neighbourhood as some attributed the deaths to food
poisoning, while others said it could generator’s fume.
The residents were also surprised that they could not get
help from the much publicised emergency numbers.

The deceased mother was said to have taken ownership
